‘Brazil became a dictatorship of the judiciary’

This Wednesday (26), digital influencer Bruno Monteiro Aiub, known as Monark, confirmed to People’s Gazette who left Brazil to live and work in the United States.

“Brazil has become a judicial dictatorship, there is no law anymore. I am politically persecuted and, unfortunately, fearing for my safety and also to continue with my work, I was forced to come to the United States, which is a country that has freedom of expression. I will continue with my podcast talking about the Brazilian situation”, Monark told Gazette.

In recent months, Monark has become a target of the judiciary for criticizing measures considered abusive imposed by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) during last year’s electoral period. Much of the criticism was directed at the President of the Court, Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

The influencer had all social networks blocked, in June this year, due to an interview with deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR) in which the parliamentarian warned about weaknesses in electronic voting machines based on an investigation opened at the request of the TSE itself, in which a hacker invasion of the system was confirmed.

In the order against the influencer, Moraes admits that Monark was being monitored by TSE employees to identify criticism of the Electoral Court.

More recently, Monark became the target of the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, for calling him “fat”. Earlier this month, the two participated in a conciliation hearing, but did not reach an agreement.

Dino demanded a public retraction from the influencer via video, but Monark is prohibited from posting on social media.

According to the influencer’s lawyer, Jorge Salomão, publishing the video could be interpreted as disobedience and result in Monark’s arrest.

Days before the conciliation hearing with Dino, Monark was in the USA for a meeting with the president of the Rumble platform, the only one that keeps the influencer’s channel active in Brazil.
