Glorioso beat Verdão and Grêmio became runner-up after thrashing Coritiba
Botafogo showed that it is a real candidate for the title of the 2023 edition of the Brazilian Championship after defeating Palmeiras by 1-0, at Allianz Parque, last Sunday afternoon (25), to shoot at the top of the classification with 30 points.
This result allowed Glorioso to open up seven points ahead of second-placed Grêmio, who thrashed Coritiba 5-1 this Sunday in Porto Alegre. Verdão, on the other hand, fell to fourth place in the standings with 22 points, the same score as third-placed Flamengo, who beat Santos 3-2 in Vila Belmiro.
