According to the publication, the lieutenant colonel of the Army, Mauro Cesar Barbosa Cid, known as Coronel Cid, is an important character in the story. Assistant to the former president, he was responsible for payments for the Bolsonaro family. In the investigation, it was noted that he made cash withdrawals from the corporate cards of the presidency and the Armed Forces to pay bills and even from the credit card of a close friend of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro.

In addition, Coronel Cid was accused of maintaining contact with people investigated for recent anti-democratic acts in Brasilia and also with the fugitive journalist Allan dos Santos, who is in the United States after having his arrest decreed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

It is not the first time that the Bolsonaro family has been investigated for suspicious spending and links to illicit schemes.
