Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the target of a search and seizure by the Federal Police (PF), will gather lawyers and close advisors this Tuesday (3) to discuss the next steps in his defense.

He was summoned to testify at the PF headquarters this Wednesday (3), at 10 am.

As soon as he found out about the operation, former Presidency Communications Secretary (Secom) Fábio Wajngarten called lawyer Marcelo Bessa to go to the former president’s residence in the high-end condominium in Brasília.

He also organized a trip with the other two members of Bolsonaro’s defense, Daniel Tesser and Paulo Cunha Bueno.

They left São Paulo for the capital at 9 am. When contacted, Tessler said he has no information about the case yet and therefore cannot comment. The investigation runs under secrecy in the STF (Federal Supreme Court).

The former minister and candidate for vice-president on Bolsonaro’s ticket, general Braga Netto, was also summoned to follow up on the case.

This morning, the PF carried out the operation that came closest to the ex-president’s hard core, with the arrest of three of his main assistants, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Max Guilherme and Sérgio Cordeiro.

Both Max and Cordeiro are even one of eight advisor positions to which Bolsonaro is entitled as a former president of the Republic. The latter was even the one who lent the house to the former representative to perform lives during the election campaign, when he was prohibited from doing them at Palácio da Alvorada.

They also accompanied Bolsonaro on his season in the United States, after losing the election. Max was still by the former president’s side on his first trips through Brazil and on the tours he has been taking in Brasília, such as the military college.

Cid, in turn, was an aide-de-camp, but had very relevant power and influence around the president, even causing jealousy among his closest aides and ministers.

The lieutenant colonel was one of those indicted for leaking the calculation used by Bolsonaro in a broadcast on August 4, 2021, in which he contested the security of the electoral system and raised suspicion of fraud in the 2018 elections.

He was also at the center of a crisis with the Army at the beginning of the year, due to a promotion to command a battalion in Goiânia, which culminated in the dismissal of the then Army commander, Julio Cesar de Arruda, during the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. da Silva (PT).

The measures are part of an investigation, says the PF, into an alleged “criminal association formed to commit the crimes of inserting false vaccination data against Covid-19 into the SI-PNI and RNDS systems of the Ministry of Health.”

“The investigation indicates that the group’s objective would be to keep the identity element cohesive in relation to its ideological guidelines, in this case, to support the speech aimed at the attacks on vaccination against Covid-19”, says the PF.

According to the Federal Police, the targets of the investigation would have made the false insertions between November 2021 and December 2022 so that beneficiaries could issue a vaccination certificate to travel to the United States.
