Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) testifies to the Federal Police this Wednesday (26), at 9 am, about the acts of January 8 that culminated in the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília. He is expected to clarify that he was not involved in the protest and that he would have no reason to be investigated as an alleged inciter.

The statement was requested last week by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), after a request from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in the inquiry that determines who would have been the instigators of the acts.

Investigators believe that a post made by the former president on social networks on January 11, concerning the Brazilian electoral system, has some connection with the acts. The message was deleted two hours later.

Bolsonaro’s defense guarantees that he never had any relationship or participation in the acts of January 8.

In addition to this testimony, Bolsonaro has already been to the PF earlier this month to explain about the jewels received from the Saudi Arabian government, and said that he learned about the objects seized by the Federal Revenue just over a year after the incident.
