Bolsonaro says he “didn’t see MST working” in his government

During the PL Mulher no Ceará event in Fortaleza, this Saturday, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said that the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) did not “work” during his administration. He claimed that the movement did not take off because under his government “420 thousand titles were granted to settlers and 80% of these titles went to women”.
The criticism was made in comparison to the advance of MST invasions under the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
At the event, Bolsonaro also criticized the way the ministers were chosen by Lula, and the recent changes of ministries to please the “centrão” parties. “You didn’t see a fight between parties for ministries in my government. We choose ministers who identify with what they should do and with the population. Compare our ministers. Compare Paulo Guedes with [Fernando] Haddad,” said Bolsonaro.
The former president also compared other names from his administration with the current one. “Compare this current Minister of Human Rights [Silvio Almeida] with Damares [Alves]. There is no comparison,” she declared.
Bolsonaro also stated that he handed the country over to the Lula government “in a much better situation than it received in 2019”.
