Bolsonaro must testify after defense read inquiry pages – 05/08/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) defense is already waiting for the new date for him to testify to the Federal Police (PF) in the case of vaccines. The former president was summoned to speak on the same day as the search and seizure at his home in Brasília. But he did not attend, as his lawyers had not had access to the inquiry data.

On the day, lawyer Paulo da Cunha Bueno compared the subpoena to coercive conduct and stated that Bolsonaro was being “coerced to remain silent”, since he could not testify under those circumstances, in which the defense was unaware of information about the investigation.

The inquiry chapters involving Bolsonaro advisors in vaccine fraud have about 3,000 pages, already made available for the defense.
