Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has five days to express his opinion about the acts of vandalism that took place in Brasília on January 8. In addition, Bolsonaro must also, within that period, comment on a post he made on a social network questioning the result of the 2022 elections.

The decision is made by the General Inspector of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Benedito Gonçalves, who responded to the request of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s (PT) campaign. The dispatch of the magistrate is last Saturday (21) and the deadline for demonstrations begins to count from the notification.

Former Minister of Defense Braga Netto, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, both sons of the former president, will also be notified. The request was made within the process on misuse of the media and abuse of political power.

According to information from G1, the post to which the lawsuit refers was made after the January 8 attacks and deleted about two hours later. The post included a video questioning the October elections.

During the invasion of the buildings of the Three Powers on January 8, demonstrators against President Lula protested against the result of the elections and accused the Powers of having rigged the election.
