Senator Jorge Seif’s (PL-SC) speech during an event on Avenida Paulista this Sunday (10) with attacks on the current mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), bothered Bolsonaro chiefs in the state. They pointed out undue interference.
In his speech at the demonstration held against the nomination of the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, to the Federal Supreme Court, Seif campaigned for federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP) for São Paulo City Hall.
“The current mayor of São Paulo doesn’t want votes from patriots to be re-elected? Where is he?” he said. “São Paulo will vote for Ricardo, but Ricardo Salles”, said Seif.
According to a Bolsonarista, Seif’s speech is an undue interference in the capital’s political issues. It would be the same, he compares, as a mayor of Goiás talking about shrimp, a typical product from the coast of Santa Catarina. Seif was Secretary of Fisheries in Jair Bolsonaro’s government.
The relationship between Nunes and the former president has been difficult, and Bolsonaro’s support for the current mayor’s re-election has cooled significantly in recent months.
