Bolsonarist businessman Esdras Jonatas dos Santos, investigated on suspicion of encouraging aggression against reporters in the coup-mongering camp in front of an army barracks in Belo Horizonte, is considered a fugitive from justice.
He was arrested and was not located by the Civil Police this Wednesday morning (15).
The police carried out an operation to arrest the businessman, named as one of the leaders of the camp, in addition to carrying out search and seizure warrants at the homes of others involved in the attacks.
The businessman’s lawyer, Ramon dos Santos, said that the client is in Miami.
In a note, he initially declared that the businessman would present himself to Justice. However, he then stated that he dropped the case for breach of trust.
The mob supporting the former president who was in front of the barracks attacked reporters who were covering the camp on two occasions.
In the first, on January 5, a photographer from the newspaper “Hoje em Dia” was kicked and kicked and his camera was stolen by Bolsonaristas. The reporter spent the night in the hospital after suffering a blow to the head.
The second took place the following day, during an operation to dismantle the camp by the Municipality of Belo Horizonte. Two reporters, from Band Minas and the newspaper O Tempo, were attacked, with minor injuries.
The city hall determined the removal of the camp because there was no license for the installation of the structure, which involved tents, chemical toilets and points for supplying food and drink.
The camp was set up by Bolsonarists after the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for the Presidency, in the second round of last year’s election, on October 30.
The operation to remove the camp was carried out by agents from the inspection sector and the Municipal Guard. Santos was one of the most excited during the demobilization of the structure. He even fell to the ground several times when trying to be restrained by some less upset Bolsonaristas.
At another time, when an Army representative informed that no one else could stay in front of the barracks, the businessman cried and ended up scolded by the officer: “Shut up. Stop crying.”
