A survey by the .MAP agency indicates the resilience of Bolsonarism and the demobilization of the left in social networks since the elections. Right-wing profiles ended February with 30.7% of engagement, mapped through likes and comments on Twitter and Facebook, with 87% of them presenting themselves as Bolsonaristas.
These profiles leveraged the digital presence of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) last month. The former president reached the end of February with 41.9% approval in 3.17 million publications that mentioned him.
In decline since October, leftist profiles lose space month after month and had a 13% share in the total. Mentioned in 4.6 million publications, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) was approved by 54% of the comments, a range that has been maintained since September.
Michelle Bolsonaro, former first lady, stood out in the month and was the fourth most cited political figure on social media in February, with 459,700 citations, with approval in line with Bolsonaro’s, 41%.
.MAP analyzed a sample taken daily from a universe of 1.4 million publications on Twitter and Facebook. In addition to registering them, the agency attributes weight to reactions such as likes, comments and forwards.
