The Minister of Planning, Simone Tebet, said this Monday (29) that the blockade of R$ 1.7 billion in the Budget will not affect the Health and Education portfolios or the smaller ministries. The government announced the need to carry out the blockade last week.

“A JEO [Junta de Execução Orçamentária] already gathered. We’ve already closed this issue. What I can only say is for you to be reassured that the smaller ministries, which have the smallest ones, and Education and Health will be preserved”, said Tebet after meeting with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad.

The minister stressed that the blockade will be temporary. “You lock with an increase in revenue. In the next report, you will be able to unlock. How will the biggest folders and bigger budgets [terão o bloqueio]you will not be working on the execution and continuity of public policies,” he said.
