In the coming days, the Joe Biden government’s special advisor for the climate will meet with a number of Brazilian authorities, among them, the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The expectation is that negotiations for American support for environmental issues will advance.

In addition to John Kerry, other White House advisers intend to land in Brazil in the coming weeks, in order to pave the way for a visit by President Joe Biden. The invitation was accepted by the American during Lula’s visit to the United States at the beginning of this month.

“We will provide more details on these visits once they are officially announced. Each will advance policy priorities discussed at the Presidents’ meetings, and will pave the way for a future visit by President Biden to Brazil, an invitation he accepted from the president Lula,” said ambassador Elizabeth Frawley Bagley.
