BDSM: fans of ‘pet play’ live animals by fetish – 07/24/2023 – Equilíbrio

The dog Inuchan is a regular at fetish parties in Belo Horizonte (MG). The “pet”, who appears on a leash and on a leash in public performances, is the erotic persona of a 39-year-old English teacher who, 15 years ago, joined BDSM (an acronym for Bondage, Discipline, Domination, Submission, Sadism and Masochism).

The practice of roleplaying animals within the movement is known as pet play. The characters can be cats, dogs, pigs, rabbits or any other animal, as long as they are in a context of submission, which may or may not involve sex. The English teacher, for example, is asexual and says she turned to BDSM for the possibility of living out a shared fantasy and exploring sensations.

Inuchan, who is part of a support network of fans called Irmandade da Coleira, performs at parties and bars, but also does private stagings with “owners” Luna and Ariel, almost always involving shibari, a Japanese technique of tying with ropes, very present in the erotic scene. Sometimes the “kitty” Miushichan also appears in the reenactments. To celebrate International BDSM Day, this Monday (24th), she performed at the Lascive Noir party, which took place last Saturday (22nd), in the capital of Minas Gerais.

During business hours, the teacher leads an ordinary life, but there are those who interpret animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“The main condition for this is for the relationship to be healthy, safe and consensual, following the principles of the movement”, says Ada, 35, host of the podcast “Chicotadas”, from Curitiba, which addresses the topic and offers guidance to the BDSM community on social networks.

According to her, whether in one-off or full-time scenes, everyone involved must be 18 years old or older and every detail needs to be lined up in advance: which parts of the body the person consents to touch or not; which fetishistic practices are accepted or not; in addition to a safety word, activated when the practitioner reaches his limit and needs to leave the role.

“Any proposal that deviates from these norms is not BDSM, it is a trap”, he says.

The pet play relationship can be established between fixed partners (in open or closed relationships), but also through remunerated contracts. Psychology student, Rum Rabelo, 27, acts as a dominatrix and takes care of four fixed pets, chosen through an online form.

“Although the bond is professional, I need to be sure that the person who wants to hire me has the same values ​​as mine,” he says.

Rabelo, who lives in Tubarão, in the interior of Santa Catarina, maintains emotional relationships apart from the pet play universe. Outside of fantasy, he has two girlfriends and says he has a “vanilla” relationship with them, a term used to refer to anyone outside of BDSM.

The mathematician Hiroshi Mori, 30, from São Paulo, is on the wing of those who have embraced pet play in their affective relationships. He says he got to know BDSM two years ago through his ex-girlfriend, with whom he had a long-distance relationship during the pandemic. The couple played an online game in which Mori was transformed into a tiger, and his partner nicknamed him Puppy. As he always liked animals, especially dogs, he started to create his role from there and, for a year now, he has been going to bars in the fetish community in São Paulo, introducing the character.

“Gradually, I let go and started to act like a ‘doggie’. I would get on all fours, bark, wag my tail and ask for affection. I had no references at the time, but I was always very well received and respected, and that gave me courage”, says the pet player, who now performs in public.

Accessories are not mandatory during practice, but they help to get into character. A fan of pet play and owner of ChocolaStore, an online store of handmade collars and chockers, Amanda, 21, says that the most popular options are those with engraved names or with a design of little bones.

Presto Dog, 38, also from São Paulo, usually wears masks at events where he performs and interacts with other dog players. Even single and without a “coach” or partner for sessions, he performs in sporadic scenes or theme parties.

One of the best known in São Paulo is the Eagle nightclub, aimed at gay men, which promotes an annual dog play contest in an online poll. According to Rudson Rezende, 43, one of the organizers of the event, the community is often linked to “leather”, a fetishist aspect associated with leather items.

“The mix between these groups helps to strengthen the community. Pet play can be sex, fetishes, games, but also a support network”, says the businessman.
