Barcelona director will visit Vitor Roque and talk to Athletico

Barcelona’s sporting director, Decowill be in Brazil next week for personal matters and will take the opportunity to visit the striker Victor Roqueof Athleticoin Curitiba.
According to Mundo Deportivo website, who initially linked the news this week, the Brazilian director wants to show support for the player who is recovering from an injury to his right ankle and explain the financial situation of the Catalan club. Barcelona want to take the 18-year-old to Spain in January.

Deco will also take advantage of the FIFA Data, starting on October 9th, to talk to Hurricane’s doctors. Treatment without surgery was seen as a good solution by Barça, according to the Spanish daily’s report.
Barcelona are sure they will be able to register Roque within the rules of financial fair play on behalf of the German fund Libero Football Financewho has to pay 40 million euros (more than R$215 million at current prices), for the stake in Barça Studios, in addition to new agreements with players from the Blaugrana squad.
Athletico sold Vitor Roque in a deal that could reach 74 million euros (around R$395 million). The initial agreement was that the striker would only go to Spain in July 2024, but the European club wants to count on the young man at the beginning of the year.
Vitor Roque is the Brasileirão’s second top scorer, with 11 goals. For Athletico in 2023, in 42 matches, the striker scored 20 goals and provided seven assists.
Furacão’s number 9 is no longer expected to play this season after the injury, which ruptured two ligaments in his right ankle, suffered in the match against Internacional, in the 24th round of the Brasileirão, on September 21st. Recovery is expected to take up to three months.
