Among the confirmed attractions are Frutos do Pagode, Gange do Forró and DJ Negão and guests. The event also carries out a campaign to prevent Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), with the distribution of condoms, in addition to establishing an anti-drug discourse.
In the last edition, held in 2023, Banda do Fuxico brought together approximately 700 carnival attendees. This year, the expectation is that 800 people will attend the block, including children, young people, adults and other community members in the neighborhood, according to the president of the event, Elson Nunes.
Founded more than 10 years ago, the band keeps the region’s cultural roots and carnival identity alive, preserving traditions that span generations.
“There was an edition of the Band in 2010 and 2011, then it stopped and returned in 2015. After 2016, there was another break, which continued until 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event only returned in 2023”, he explained.
With a modern structure and policing, the event is supported by the City of Manaus and the Government of Amazonas.
