Journalists and journalism students have until March 15 (Wednesday) to register for the CCNow Journalism Award, promoted by Covering Climate Now, a global network dedicated to environmental coverage, in partnership with the Columbia Journalism Review magazine. Registration is free and can be done on the CCNow website.
The initiative will recognize works published in 2022, in journalistic vehicles of all sizes, and that address the impacts caused by the climate crisis and propose solutions to these problems. It is possible to submit productions in text, audio, video and photography, as well as multimedia reports and projects designed for social networks. There are also specific categories for professionals at the beginning of their careers and journalism students.
For papers not in English, you must send both the original and the translation. The contents must approach climate changes from aspects related to them, such as consequences for public health, effects on ecosystems and inequalities caused by environmental racism.
Previous editions of the CCNow Awards recognized works by professionals from 74 countries, in vehicles such as Reuters, AFP, CNN and Al Jazeera.
