Entries are open for the 2023 edition of the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award. The award, created in 2015 and organized by the IWMF (International Women’s Media Foundation), is named after a German photographer who died covering conflicts in Afghanistan in April 2014.
Only women and non-binary people can apply. Applications are open until March 3. The winner will have her works exhibited during the award ceremony and will receive US$ 20,000 (R$ 102,000).
Interested parties must send 12 of their photographs. According to the organization, they need to represent “the candidate’s personality within challenging reporting environments.”
The candidate must also answer questions related to the style and conditions of her photographic work. Photographs may not be digitally manipulated, except for minor color and contrast corrections, and the photographer may not alter or stage the events portrayed.
