‘Authorities’ don’t believe their own story for Nord Stream – 04/04/2023 – Nelson de Sá

Weeks after journalist Seymour Hersh laughed and described the story as fabricated to divert attention, “German officials” now say the sailboat allegedly used to blow up the Nord Stream pipeline was a “decoy, to distract from the real perpetrators”.

That’s what the Washington Post published, in a report verified in Washington and Berlin, among others. “US officials say they share German skepticism that six crew on a sailboat planted the explosives.”

According to a German official, anonymous like the others, attention to the boat came after “the country received a ‘very concrete tip’ from a Western intelligence service that it could be involved.” The source “refused to identify the country that shared the information.”

The sailboat, in the words of the newspaper, “left a trail of breadcrumbs”, evidence that came to be seen as suspicious. And now “Western authorities are not eager to find out who bombed it”, concludes WaPo:

“At European and NATO meetings, officials have set a standard, said a senior European diplomat: ‘Don’t talk about Nord Stream.’ countries. ‘It’s like a corpse at a family reunion’, said the diplomat. Everyone can see that there is a body there, but they pretend that things are normal. ‘It’s better not to know.'”

USA LET JAPAN Drill CEILING

The Wall Street Journal exclusively points out that “Tokyo gained an exception to the rules that bind the G7 nations” and “buys Russian oil above the ceiling”. More specifically, in the text, “Japan managed to get the US to agree to the exception”, which does not apply to “European allies”.
