Atlântica and Einstein announce new hospital in São Paulo – 06/03/2023 – Health

Atlântica Hospitais and Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein announced this Monday (6) the creation of a health unit in the capital of São Paulo, with an estimated investment of R$ 600 million. Scheduled to open in 2027, the new hospital will have 300 beds and will be installed close to the Ana Rosa subway station, in Vila Mariana.

According to the companies, the hospital will have a neonatal, child and adult ICU, 20 operating and maternity rooms. In addition, it will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology for both surgical procedures and examinations such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. The site will also have an infusion center for chemotherapy and immunobiologicals and emergency care for adults and children.

For Carlos Marinelli, director general of Atlântica, the business responds to the demand for health equipment in view of the verticalization of Vila Mariana and the increase in residents.

In addition, due to the proximity to the subway, easy access is expected to attract users of health plans from other regions, as well as doctors who live or work in the vicinity.

“Einstein was founded with the mission of bringing health to an ever-increasing number of human beings and, as an organization, we see a population that often has health care, but does not [tem acesso] to more modern practices such as genomic medicine and cell therapy. This partnership gives us the opportunity to bring this type of service to more people”, says Sidney Klajner, president of Einstein.

The new hospital is also seen as a way to meet the needs of the older population, either by facilitating access to prevention and tracking actions, or in terms of treatment. “Although many procedures are no longer being performed in hospitals, we will not cease to have more complex patients, who require treatment with several specialists”, adds Klajner.

Under the agreement, Einstein will be responsible for managing and operating the new hospital, including hiring and training employees. Atlântica, the health investment arm of Grupo Bradesco Seguros, will control the unit, which will be built by BSP Empreendimentos Imobiliários, another member of Bradesco Seguros.

“Without a doubt, it will be state-of-the-art hospital equipment”, predicts Marinelli, noting that the space will not be reserved for patients insured by Bradesco Seguros. The unit will allow the accreditation of several supplementary health operators, as well as private assistance.

In addition to the partnership for the new hospital, Einstein is preparing to launch an innovation and biotechnology center in the Amazon to develop artificial intelligence, telemedicine and big data projects.

The hospital should also soon start building an advanced oncology and hematology center with investments in the order of R$ 1.2 billion, R$ 400 million from Einstein and R$ 800 million from the Bueno Netto Group and investment funds.
