Athletes from the Amazon land in São Luís to compete in the 2023 Brazilian University Games Praia

Manaus (AM) — Composed of 24 athletes, the delegation from Amazonas landed this weekend (22 and 23) in São Luís, Maranhão, to compete in the 12th edition of the Brazilian University Games (JUBs) Praia, organized by the Brazilian Confederation of University Sports (CBDU) ).
The competitions will start on Monday (24) and continue until Sunday (30). Amazonas has 26 athletes, in men’s, women’s and mixed suits, competing in six modalities, they are beach wrestling (category and absolute), beach tennis, beach volleyball, mixed 4×4 volleyball, footvolley and 3×3 basketball.
For the president of the Amazon University Sports Federation (Faud), Lilian Valente, expectations are the best possible.
“Our team, despite not competing in all disciplines, is very complete. The athletes are prepared, some have already come to other editions and were medalists, and I believe we will have an excellent performance. Amazon will certainly do well in all disputes”,

Opening
The opening ceremony will be held this Monday (24/04), at 7:30 pm, at the Multicenter
Sebrae, located at Avenida Jerônimo de Albuquerque, s/n, Alto do Calhau.
The competition
Approximately 1,600 people will participate in the 12th edition of JUBs Praia, representing 24 Brazilian states, including athletes, coaches, managers, referees, staff, volunteers and the organizing committee.
In the last edition, in 2022, 1,500 participants were present, representing 25 states in the disputes.
