To reach the South American Judo Veterans Championship, the judoka from Amazonas had to go through a long journey of training and competitions, preparing his mind and body on a daily basis, including strengthening and technical training.
“Arriving at the South American Judo Veterans Championship was a very arduous mission, I participated in international events in 2022 in Salvador, Bahia, where I obtained scores to guarantee a place for this competition. Since the vacancy was announced, I’ve been training my mind and body on a daily basis, from strengthening and technical training to representing the state and the country with great pride and honor. And soon we will have the return of these training sessions for this season”,

Ricardo Nascimento has been practicing judo since the 80’s and has already competed in several categories for the Shogum Judô Association and for the Kaizen Judô Clube, where he is currently training with professor Dejanir Nunes.
Despite the difficulties of staying in the sport due to the lack of support from the public authorities, Ricardo can count on the support of family and friends to keep himself in competitions. Judo has always been something of great importance for the athlete, which helped him to revive in times when he was down.
“I rely a lot on the support of friends and family for my competitions. There are many competitors in the state who are great, but they have a ‘perrengue’ to get support from the public authorities, I really hope that they can be successful in their battles. Judo is something of paramount importance in my life, it helped me to revive in moments of anguish”,
claimed.
