Athletics is one of the modalities that win the most medals in national events and the parathlete Wanna Brito is included in that. She was called up to the Brazilian athletics team and will compete in her first international competition: Morocco 2023 WPA Grand Prix.

Wanna She is 26 years old and has a degree in physiotherapy. She has been competing for about three years and was in the F36 class, for athletes who compete standing up. However, she underwent a functional reclassification before the Meeting Loterias Caixa de Macapá, in August 2022, and fell to the F32 class, in which she performs the releases and pitches sitting with one hand supported.
The parathlete has participated in several national championships and holds two Brazilian records (shot put and club). Wanna set the national best mark in the shot put by reaching 5.99m. She surpassed the São Paulo Ellen Braga, owner of the old record, from September 2018, with 4.66m, made at the Paralympic Training Center, in São Paulo. It is such an expressive result that it puts Wanna as owner of the third best mark in the world in this race in the F32 class (cerebral palsy).
