The event will bring together more than 4,000 exhibitors, including global brands and startups, industry professionals, media and government leaders. According to Reuters, the fair opens with the seal of inevitable Artificial Intelligence (AI), which hopes to convert online devices into even more sophisticated, “intelligent” and even “human” products. For this edition of CES, thanks to AI, robots will have the ability to interact, autonomous vehicles will be more intuitive and mirrors will be increasingly perceptive, according to the Associated Press. See the topics that will dominate the fair below: 🧠 Artificial intelligence: AI will be front and center with applications that can improve healthcare, sustainability, productivity, accessibility and more. 🌍 Human Security for All: ETUC will once again partner with the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security and the World Academy of Art and Science on the global Human Security for All campaign, highlighting how technology is solving some of the biggest challenges of the world. 🚗 Mobility: as in recent years, the fair will continue to focus on urban mobility, bringing together more than 250 exhibitors ranging from automotive technology to autonomous and electric vehicles and personal mobility. ♻️ Sustainability: Companies will showcase how they are having a positive impact through innovations in accessibility, energy, food technology, resilience, smart cities, clean water and more. 🧠 Focus on artificial intelligence A number of companies are expected to show how the use of AI in vehicles is making them smoother and safer for drivers through better virtual assistants and in-vehicle cabin displays. Many automakers are also adopting AI at various stages of production to reduce costs, said Wendy Bauer, vice president of automotive and manufacturing at Amazon Web Services, which counts BMW and Toyota as customers. AI can help automakers save money by speeding up vehicle development and ensuring better quality checks during manufacturing, Wendy said. Cerence, which makes AI-powered virtual assistants, is expected to announce a partnership with Volkswagen and Israel-based Cipia to introduce a system that monitors signs of distraction and drowsiness in drivers. But the focus will not just be on vehicles. Japan’s NEC will unveil software that allows mobile devices to analyze facial patterns and pupil conditions to estimate human vital signs and mental state. According to Reuters, PC and smartphone manufacturers must show how their products use AI, something that chipmakers like Intel and AMD are betting will offer a new revenue stream. Microsoft said last Thursday (4) that Windows computers will get a new AI button – examples will be shown at the fair.
