Former Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello participated in a motorcycle with then President Jair Bolsonaro in 2022. At the time, Pazuello was an active general in the army. Eduardo’s presence at the event was previously communicated to commander Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, general in charge. This information had been kept confidential for 100 years, and was revealed this Friday (14) by the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU).
The former minister was with Bolsonaro in Rio de Janeiro, even speaking alongside the former president in a sound car. Recently, he was elected federal deputy with the second highest number of votes in the state.
In the process, Pazuello claimed that “by phone on Saturday that he would go on the tour on Sunday, at the invitation of the president” and that he agreed to participate because of the “bonds of respect and camaraderie” he has with Bolsonaro. General Nogueira confirmed, in the document, that it was communicated by Pazuello.
“It should be noted, initially, that the general officer in question effectively communicated to this commander that he would travel to the city of Rio de Janeiro, in order to participate in the motorcycle tour, at the invitation of the President of the Republic”, stated Nogueira.
The Army commander also pointed out that Pazuello’s participation in the motociata had no party-political bias because the former minister spoke in an “improvised way and greeted those present and praised the tour”. Soon after, Nogueira became Minister of Defense.
“From the accurate analysis of the facts, as well as the allegations of the said general officer, it appears, peremptorily, that there was no partisan political bias in the words uttered, it is repeated, impromptu, by the listed, at that moment”, he said. .
