Aras sympathizes with Moraes after hostility in Rome – 07/15/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

The Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, ordered the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) to take the appropriate measures against the aggressors who harassed the Minister of the STF (Federal Supreme Court) Alexandre de Moraes and his family members, on Friday (14 ), while passing through Rome airport.

Aras, who is out of the country, sent a message to the magistrate expressing his solidarity. The PGR claims to classify the aggression as “repulsive” and claims that the fact that the hostility reached Moraes’ family is an aggravating factor.

The offenses were uttered by a group of Brazilians who addressed the member of the Supreme Court and president of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) with expressions such as “bandit”, “communist” and “bought”, according to information collected by the investigators.

According to TV Globo, a son of the minister was hit in the face. His glasses would have fallen to the ground because of the impact.

The PGR has already requested information about the case from the Federal Police, which has launched an inquiry to determine the circumstances of the approach.

Businessman Roberto Mantovani Filho, 71, one of the targets of the PF investigation, told Sheet await an official statement on the accusation against him and family members to detail their versions.

Mantovani claims that he saw Moraes at the airport, but denies that he spoke to him. “What I can tell you is that I actually saw the minister. He was sitting in a room, but I didn’t say a word to him,” he said.

The businessman is appointed as responsible for the blow to Moraes’ son.

The PF also investigates the participation of his wife, Andreia Munarão, his son, Giovanni Mantovani, and his son-in-law, Alex Zanatta Bignotto, in the episode.

The businessman also stated that, as he was accompanied by his two granddaughters, aged 4 and 2, when disembarking at Guarulhos airport, he preferred not to talk to a PF delegate in the early hours of Saturday (15), leaving to attend the corporation later.

Moraes participated in an international law forum held at the University of Siena in Italy. He was a member of the Constitutional Justice and Democracy panel, which was also attended by Minister André Ramos Tavares, who is also a member of the TSE.
