Apps show failures in SP schools after 1 week – 03/23/2023 – Educação

Launched a week ago by the Tarcísio de Freitas (Republican) government, the educational apps failed to be used in the classroom at state schools in São Paulo.

On Thursday (16), the Secretary of Education, Renato Feder, said that the apps would help teachers save time during activities and that they were easy to use. In practice, however, there are reports of professors who say they cannot access the platforms – which are mandatory in the classroom.

In a note, the secretariat said that the simulation is being applied normally and that “there was a brief instability, which has already been resolved”. The folder did not say what the error was, how many students were affected and how long the application was unavailable.

This Thursday (23), all approximately 5,500 state schools in São Paulo should apply a simulated Prova Paulista to students, through the Media Center application. During the morning, teachers and students reported not being able to access the platform. An error message appeared on the screen when trying to access.

Still this Thursday morning, at around 9:40 am, Citem (Coordination of Information, Technology, Evidence and Enrollment) sent an email to all 97 boards of education in the state informing that “it was aware of the problems encountered in carrying out the simulation” and that the technical teams were already working to solve them as soon as possible.

Schools were not informed of the deadline for normalization of the system.

A Sheet received records from teachers from four schools who were unable to access the application from 8 am to 12:30 pm this Thursday. According to them, the failures harm the school planning, since they had reserved the day and prepared the students to do the simulation, according to the guidance they received from the secretary.

In a note, the folder also said that the application test of the test “was planned so that the secretariat could identify possible instabilities” and that the evaluation will actually be formally applied on the 28th and 29th of March.

Teachers also registered failures when using the Aluno Presente application, a kind of digital class diary where they control student failures. They have been documenting errors on a daily basis when trying to access the platform.

Entrepreneur in the area of ​​technology, Feder bets on the introduction of digital tools to improve the quality of education in São Paulo. The applications launched last Thursday were the first announcements of his management.

The test, which students were supposed to take on this Thursday, had already been applied for at least four years. It is done with students at the end of each year. Feder announced the change of name of the assessment, from AAP (Avaliação da Aprendizagem em Processo) to Prova Paulista.

The evaluation follows the same previous model, being done digitally. The change with the introduction of the application, according to Feder’s promise, is that the result of the students’ performance will be available to teachers 24 hours after the application of the test.
