The National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) authorized, this Monday morning (12) an adjustment of up to 9.63% in regulated individual and family health plans for the period of May 2023 and April 2024. It is valid for collective and corporate plans.
According to the regulatory agency, the readjustment will impact almost 8 million Brazilians who use the plans. The 2023 index was analyzed by the Ministry of Finance and approved at a meeting of the ANS Collegiate Board of Directors, and can be applied by operators in the contract anniversary month.
On the other hand, in the case of contracts that expire in May, June and July, the agency authorized a retroactive charge for those months. The agency explains that customers who do not agree with the readjustment can opt for the portability of shortages to another operator.
The ANS also states that the readjustment was calculated based on inflation, increase or decrease in the frequency of use of the health plan and the costs of medical services and inputs, such as products and equipment. Last year, the readjustment was 15.5%.
