The Minister of Planning, Simone Tebet, said this Monday (12) that the service sector may have a different rate in the tax reform. The project must be voted in the Chamber of Deputies in the first week of July, before the parliamentary recess.
According to the minister, discussions are being held to define the rates of the new Value Added Tax (VAT), as the project’s rapporteur in the House, Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB) said last week.
“Some sectors, especially the services sector, [terá discussão] to see the issue of a slightly different rate in relation to this chain of some service sectors. We know that it is a relevant issue”, he said at a Febraban event, in a register by Politics 360.
Simone Tebet also commented on the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for this year, estimating at more than 2%. Focus report, from the Central Bank, released earlier, points to an expectation of 1.84%.
