With the start of the competitive year, the Confederação Brasileira de Jiu-Jitsu Desportivo (CBJJD) and the International Sports Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association (ISBJJA) are also starting a series of events under the brand name of the International Cup, which throughout the 2022/23 season will visit different states and countries.
The first edition took place in November last year, with the Rio International Jiu-Jitsu Cup, and in February this year it was Mato Grosso do Sul’s turn to host the championship. Both, it is worth mentioning, with great success.
The next stops of the International Cup will be in Angra dos Reis-RJ, on the 9th of April, and in Santiago, capital of Chile, on the 29th of the same month. Following, the event will pass through Vitória-ES, in May, Belém-PA, in June, and has been sewing partnerships with more Brazilian states.
At the Angra International Cup, in addition to the traditional disputes, other attractions will be the New Talent Challenge superfights – now traditional at the Mineirinho Circuit – and the Super GP Black Belt, between adult and master black belts, which will give the champion an international ticket.
In parallel to the competitions, Rogério Gavazza, president of the CBJJD and vice president of the ISBJJA, and Oscar Daniotti, responsible for the international entity, have a scheduled agenda in Portugal and Italy to deal with the expansion of the ISABJJA.
At the end of the season, the champions of the 2022/23 ranking will win tickets to international competitions of the ISBJJA in Europe.
