The former Minister of Justice, Anderson Torres, will be heard by the Federal Police this Monday afternoon (8), at 2:30 pm, in the investigation that investigates the performance of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) on the day of the second round of the 2022 elections. testimony was requested last Wednesday (3) by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), and confirmed by Torres’ defense this Sunday night (7).

Torres has been in prison since January due to the investigation into the acts of January 8, and his health has deteriorated in recent weeks. Another recently scheduled testimony had been postponed at the request of the defense.

This Monday’s testimony (8) investigates the circumstances of the operations carried out by the PRF on the Sunday of the election to supervise traffic mainly in cities in the Northeast. Torres will be heard as a declarant and will be guaranteed the right to silence and the guarantee of non-self-incrimination when questioned during the deposition.

The hearing will be in person and the former minister will be escorted from a battalion of the Military Police of the Federal District, where he is being held, to the PF premises.

Torres has been in prison since January 14 due to investigations arising from another process, which investigates the acts of January 8. The inquiry at the STF investigates alleged omission by him, who was the Secretary of Public Security of the DF, and by other authorities in containing the acts.
