The defense of the former secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, Anderson Torres, may not attend the session of the Legislative Chamber of the DF that investigates the acts of January 8, scheduled for this Thursday (9).

Lawyer Rodrigo Roca told the People’s Gazettethis Wednesday (8), that everything Torres could say about the protests that took place in Brasília has already been told to the Federal Police, in a statement lasting more than 10 hours.

According to Roca, Torres’ testimony to the district deputies would involve a very large transport logistics between the place where he is detained and the Legislative Chamber, at the expense of public money, and would not clarify more than has already been said. A petition officializing the non-attendance to the CPI of the DF must be filed this Wednesday (8).

The Legislative Chamber confirmed to the report that it is already working with this possibility. Torres’ defense decision not to take him to the CPI session came hours after the Federal Supreme Court (STF) authorized the former secretary to remain silent in the deposition or even not to attend.

“Anderson Torres, who is being held in pre-trial detention, must be escorted by a police escort and will only take place with his prior agreement”, said Moraes in the decision.
