Evicted from the Lula government to allow more Centrão parties to embark on the Esplanada dos Ministérios, the former athlete and now former Minister of Sports Ana Moser stated this Thursday (7), that his departure was a political decision and represents an “abandonment of the sport”. The statement was made to CNN Brazilwill soon speak at Congonhas airport, in São Paulo.
“It was a political decision, a shame for the sport. It’s a shame for the sport, it’s the abandonment of the sport, but it’s part of politics,” said Moser, who will be replaced by federal deputy Andre Fufuca (PP-MA), 34 years old, close to the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), and the president of the PP, Ciro Nogueira, who opposes the Lula government.
On Wednesday (6), when confirming the choices of Fufuca and Silvio Costa Filho (Republicanos-PE) – who will take over Ports and Airports -, the note from Palácio do Planalto made no mention of Moser.
Also on Wednesday, the former athlete had already released a statement through an advisor in which he said he saw “with sadness and dismay the temporary interruption of an inclusive, democratic and egalitarian public sports policy in the federal government.”
“During the conversation [com Lula] Ana Moser regretted that the campaign promises, of a sport for the entire nation, had so little time to develop in the resumption of the management of the Ministry of Sports aimed at implementing a policy that would implement the social right to practice sports” , he also stated in a note.
