The CEO of Coritiba, Carlos Amodeodetonated the refereeing of the Campeonato Paranaense after the draw against Athletico this Sunday (18). The director sent a message to the Paraná Football Federation (FPF) and called the arbitration “unqualifiable”, asking for a review of the professionals.
“We, who are executives, want to value the football product. But the appreciation comes from the qualification of the teams, the infrastructure of the stadiums, but also the refereeing of the competitions. I’m not coming to make a specific complaint, I want to say that the level of refereeing in the Campeonato Paranaense is unspeakable, it’s very low in all games” he stated.
Amodeo revealed that the Cox-White board met with members of the Federation last week to show the mistakes made in the matches.
+ Guto counters Osorio: “We didn’t allow them to play in the loose way they like”
“And I was very well received. We showed serious refereeing errors. In almost all of them, there was recognition by the Federation that they were errors. And there was a commitment to improve arbitration. But instead of the quality improving, it stayed the same. And today we saw very low quality, confusing arbitration”, he said.
The thigh-white leader also asked that in the knockout phase of the competition, the matter be discussed and reviewed again. “It’s not biased, but it’s a lack of criteria and quality. I appeal to the federation for the subsequent stages: Please review and select the referees with the best quality to improve football in Paraná”, he asked.
In the draw with Maringá, on Wednesday (14), Guto had already criticized the refereeing, citing “external subterfuge” that could harm the classic.
