Embraer informs that American Airlines signed today, in Le Bourget, during the Paris Air Show, a contract for the purchase of seven new E175 jets, which will be operated by the subsidiary Envoy Air. The first deliveries take place in the fourth quarter of 2023.

With the addition, the Brazilian company’s E-Jets fleet at Envoy Air will grow to 141 aircraft by the end of 2024. The contract is valued at US$ 403.4 million (R$ 1.9 billion), according to list price, and will be added to this year’s second quarter backlog.

This new order once again demonstrates the importance of the E175 to connectivity across the United States, despite the current restrictions that have affected US regional aviation.

The E175 jet began operations in North America in 2005 and has since dominated the industry thanks to its comfort, high performance and efficiency. Customers appreciate Embraer’s trademark “two and two” interior configuration, with no one in the middle seat.

To date, the global E170/E175 fleet has accumulated more than 18 million flight hours, with Envoy responsible for 1.1 million of these hours.

Pedro Fébregas, CEO of Envoy, says that the partnership with Embraer started 25 years ago, with the ERJ 145, and that the partnership is strengthened with the order of additional aircraft to grow the jet fleet. He highlights the aircraft’s “exceptional” availability and performance.

According to Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer, the E175 is the backbone of the US regional network, with more than 620 aircraft sold, and having an 86% market share since 2013.”
