Amazonas leads absence ranking on the 1st day of Enem tests

Amazonas leads the number of abstentions on the first day of the National High School Exam (Enem) test held this Sunday (5). According to data released by the Ministry of Education, there were 92,925 thousand registered and 44% of this number, 40,887 thousand people, did not show up to participate in the first day of the exam. In second place is the state of Acre with 33.22% abstentions out of a total of 24,277 registered for the test.
The MEC also announced that 4,293 candidates were eliminated from the test. The folder explains that elimination occurs in situations such as: carrying electronic equipment, leaving the test room before the permitted time, using printed materials and not following the inspectors’ instructions. Additionally, 905 participants were affected by logistical problems.
Also according to the MEC, five cell phones were seized and used in fraud, an electronic point, 15 people were arrested, a fight ended in fact and 25 power outages at test sites were recorded in the security system. In the balance, these numbers were not stratified by states, nor were the reasons for the arrests disclosed.
On Sunday (5), the test was administered with 90 questions divided into thematic axes: Languages, codes and their technologies and Human sciences and their technologies. And also the essay with the theme “Challenges for confronting the invisibility of care work carried out by women in Brazil”. The second phase will be held next Sunday (12). The gates open at 12pm and close at 1pm Brasília (DF) time.
Only candidates who present a medical certificate with logistical problems during the administration of the tests or are affected by one of the infectious diseases listed in the notice in the week preceding the first or second day of administration of the tests, through the Participant Page, during the November 13th to 17th. The tests will be administered on December 12th and 13th.

The first day saw a lack of electricity in at least seven test locations. With the power outage, the water supply also affected one of the schools.
“The biggest occurrence was the lack of energy, due to a huge storm in the cities, mainly Manaus, Manacapuru and Iranduba”,
explained the state coordinator of the Brazilian Center for Research in Assessment and Selection and Event Promotion (Cebraspe), Jane da Silva.
