Fans filled the Arena da Amazônia to support the Amazon club
Manaus (AM) – Amazonas FC faced Botafogo-PB, in the second phase of Series C, this Saturday (7), at Arena da Amazônia, in Manaus, and the home club secured the victory with a score of 2-0, having direct access to the series B of the Brasileirão.
From a penalty, in the 19th minute, Diego Torres opened the scoring for Amazonas FC. Then, in the 23rd minute, Rafael Tavares made it 2-0 for the home team.
After five minutes of added time in the second half, the game ended with a historic victory for the Amazonian team. With the result, after 17 years, a state club returns to the second division. 44,500 tickets were made available for the match.
Massive crowd
The people of Manauara went in large numbers to support Amazonas FC. With all tickets sold, fans cheered the match and helped the local club make history.
On social media, videos were posted to show the atmosphere in the arena and the excitement of the fans. In this game, Onça-Pintada had a real chance of moving up a division, after almost 20 years without an Amazonian club competing in Series B of the Brazilian Championship.

Despite being suspended, striker and top scorer Sassá arrived at the stadium applauded by the fans. All tickets for the match were sold out.
