Striker, who was Brazilian Series C champion with Amazonas-AM, is accused by a young woman of assault
Pará (AM) – Football player Douglas Santos, known as DG, aged 24, champion of Series C 2023 with Amazonas FC, is being accused of assaulting a young woman during a private party last weekend. The case took place in Belém (Pará), where the victim was undergoing professional training. According to the Police Report (BO), the attacks would have started after the victim did not accept the player’s advances.
According to the victim, the player had tried to flirt with her, but had his ‘investments’ refused. Afraid of the insistence, the young woman locked herself in the bathroom. The player broke down the bathroom door and threw several blows at the woman, who lost part of her hair, injured a nail on her hand and suffered serious injuries to her mouth. Douglas also made death threats, according to the victim.
The woman was not killed because a friend of the player interrupted the violence, removing Douglas from the victim. However, the player continued to threaten the young woman, seeking information about her residence through messages. At dawn, he sent a mocking message, further increasing the seriousness of the situation.
In the Police Report, Ligia reported that Douglas threatened her during the attacks, which resulted in marks on her body, broken nails and pulled out strands of hair: “You don’t know me, I’m going to crush you, I’m going to kill you, you bitch. I’ll pay for this fucking nail.”
Ligia underwent forensic examinations at a health unit in Cametá. On Sunday night, she disclosed what happened in several posts on a social network.
The Civil Police issued a note informing “that the victim underwent a forensic examination and that those involved will give a statement”. Also according to the PC, the case is being investigated by the Marco Police Station.
This Monday (13), SM Brazil, the company responsible for advising Douglas Santos, issued a note repudiating “any act of aggression against women” on your Instagram.
Douglas’ former club, Amazonas, also took a stance on what happened and informed that he is no longer part of the team. All that is missing is “legal procedures to formalize the closure”, according to the club.
