Manaus (AM) – The Amazonas Energia concessionaire continues to be involved in controversies in the criminal sphere. After defending in an advertisement that whoever was against the new air gauge system would be committing a crime, a service provider of the company was arrested on suspicion of stealing electricity wire and performing the popular ‘gato’ for his benefit. The man identified as Leonardo Lopes Furtado, 41, was arrested this week at his residence, located in the João Paulo II community, Jorge Teixeira neighborhood, in the East Zone of Manaus.

According to information from delegate Leonardo Marinho, holder of the 25th Integrated Police District (DIP), the suspect was identified in an act of aggravated theft and would have used the information he received as an employee of the company to commit the crimes. He was booked red-handed and taken to a police station in the capital of Amazonas.

“We received information about a public agent who would be stealing wires and also criminally diverting energy to his residence. So, we moved and came across technicians from the energy concessionaire, who went to the residence and certified the theft ”, he pointed out.

In response to questions from Em Tempo about what happened, Amazonas Energia, which is the target of the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) in the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam) – and was also the target of repudiation in the Manaus City Council (CMM) for claim that people who are not in favor of aerial meters defend crime -, he declared through his advisory that ‘the concessionaire and its partner companies are not consistent with any type of illegal practice’.

“Amazonas Energia requested measures from the outsourced company, given the situation. We emphasize that the concessionaire and its partner companies are not consistent with any type of illegal practice. ”, highlighted the advisory.

The state deputy and president of the Consumer Protection Commission (CDC-Aleam), state deputy Mário César Filho (União Brasil), raised in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam) the suspicion of the existence of a network of “fake news” against his personal and public life on social networks, moved by employees of Amazonas Energia.

The deputy speaks of persecution by the head of communication at the energy concessionaire in the state, and of blogs, portals and websites that suddenly began to question his parliamentary performance.

“I came from the press and I know how it works. I’m not going to ‘roll up’ at any time”, said the congressman.

The deputy stated that the smear campaign came days after the delivery to the Public Ministry of Amazonas (MP-AM) of the complaint against the advertisement of Amazonas Energia.

In a recent complaint, state deputy Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) repudiated, from the Aleam gallery, the disrespect of the company Amazonas Energia in the face of frequent blackouts in the municipality of Itacoatiara.

“It is impossible to have regional development with the lack of energy”.

“I bring a sad reality faced by several municipalities in the interior of the State, which is the constant lack of energy. Last weekend I was in the municipality of Itacoatiara, where I could see the frequent blackouts up close. A real lack of respect and commitment to the population, which has a very high energy cost. Today we have one of the most expensive energy sources in the country, with poor quality service”, lamented Abrahim.

The president of Aleam’s Commission for Municipal Affairs and Rural and Regional Development also said that his legal team will file some requests for Amazonas Energia to pronounce on the lack of energy in Itacoatiara and present solutions.

“Here is our repudiation and our indignation at Amazonas Energia. We are waiting for solutions to be taken and the problem resolved to put an end to these blackouts, which have been constantly affecting Itacoatiara. This harms children, the elderly, commerce, that is, the general population. Itacoatiara needs to start the process of moving to Linhão and the other municipalities need to work on other matrices, such as gas plants, which today are very strong, isolated, which work only for this production, which is the case of the municipality of Coari”, he concluded.
