The Amapá Handball Federation (FHAP) will be holding, between the 26th and 29th of October, the Pan Amazonian of the sport. The international event will bring together teams from Amapá, Pará and French Guiana and has the support of Macapá City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure (Semel).
The competition will be for the master category (35+ Women and 42+ Men) and the matches will take place at the Glicério Marques Sports Complex, in the evening. On Saturday (28) the games will be in the afternoon and Sunday (29) in the morning. The winners will receive trophies and medals.
The women’s teams will be Independente (AP), Penepolis (PA) and Staf Club (French Guiana). The men’s team will feature the teams AABB (AP), Independente (AP), Lendas (PA) and Staff Club (Guyana).
The event will rotate and each city or country will host the Pan-Amazonian. The 2024 edition will be in French Guiana and in 2025 in Pará. The expectation is that more teams from other countries will participate in the competition, such as Chile and Argentina, which have already signaled interest.
