The artist brightened the feature films “Among Us” and “Until the last light goes out”

Manaus (AM) – The Amazon Film Festival, through the Cineclube e Arte, presents next Saturday (24th), starting at 6:30 pm, two works starring Arnaldo Barreto. Whether in front of or behind the camera, the artist brightened the feature films “Entre Nós” and “Until the last light goes out”. The latter celebrates its 10th anniversary. The project takes place on Saturdays at Cineteatro Guarany, giving prominence to audiovisual professionals in the North region.

In “Entre Nós”, Arnaldo directs the story, which tells the drama of Amália (Izabel Vega) and Jandira (Dione Maciel), who live in the Amazon, on the banks of the Tapajós River. The plot happens when the young Amália (Fernanda Marquez) gets involved with the Ferreira brothers, Renato (Lino Camilo) and Ricardo (Denis Carvalho), causing a great tragedy that forever marks her life and that of everyone in Vila Paraíso.

Arnaldo’s first feature as a director, the work proposes a plot in which the past and the future are like a pendulum, going back and forth, with reflections on the present of the characters. According to the filmmaker, the work was a restart of a journey in his life for cinema.

“When I released the film, I saw that I had a very big responsibility, not because I was shooting my first feature film, but because I was on the scene with great actors and producers, it was very challenging, despite it being an old desire to make a feature film. time, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. The work was not made for me, but for the spectator”,

points out Arnold.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the film “Until the last light goes out”, which earned the awards for Best Director, Best Art Direction and, Arnaldo, the Best Actor award, at the Guarnicê Film Festival 2014, also will be displayed on the schedule. For the artist, the award meant the announcement of potential and he needed to continue studying and seeing his possibilities for building art.

The Amazon Film Festival is held by the State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy. According to the holder of the folder, Marcos Apolo Muniz, the objective is to value local artists, also encouraging the population to develop a taste for the seventh art.

“We have many artists to be discovered and the audiovisual market also has a lot to be explored, being fundamental for valuing the Amazonian environment, as well as our Amazonian identity and all its representativeness”,
