Founded on June 26, 1945, the Amapaense Football Federation (FAF) turned 78 this Monday (26). President Netto Góes celebrated the importance of the day, but stressed the need for constant evolution.
“It is a very emblematic date. We arrived with greater maturity, more modern, adapted to world football…. We are very proud of that age. We have our own headquarters, staff, well-developed annual calendar”he said.
“We only managed to get this far because, over that time, many people helped us to consolidate football in Amapá. CBF has always been our biggest partner, we are very happy to be affiliated since our creation. The evaluation is very positive, but the expectation for the future is even better. We are always looking to evolvecompleted.
Although the federation dates back to the 1940s, it was only in 1991 that Amapá football began to become professional. Currently, the federation is responsible for the following championships: Amapaense Professional, Under-20, Under-17, Under-15, Intermunicipal, Non-Professional and Women.
The president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, congratulated the federation and reinforced its support for regional football.
“It is a mission of the CBF, in my administration, to give more and more support to the Federations, so that they can act for the development of football in their regions. I congratulate my friend Netto Góes for the work he has been doing and for the 78 years of the Amapaense Federation”he said Rodrigues.
