Amapá wins medal in Badminton at the Brazilian School Games – News of Brazil

Student-athletes from Amapá, from the municipality of Vitória do Jari, won medals (silver and bronze) at the Brazilian School Games (JEBs) 2023, which is taking place in Brasília.
Athletes Klaus Alves and Kurt Cobain shone and won bronze in the men’s doubles category and Andella Victória and Kurt Cobain won silver in the mixed doubles. They represented the Francisca de Freitas Araújo and Teotônio Brandão Vilela Schools, from Vitória do Jari Amapá.
With these additional achievements, Amapá has 29 medals, five gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze. The expectation is to win medals by the last day of the competition, November 9th.
All students are between 12 and 14 years old and are enrolled in public and private educational institutions in the municipalities of Laranjal do Jari, Vitória do Jari, Oiapoque, Santana and the capital Macapá, with emphasis on the districts of Pacui and Quilombo Curiau .
Amapá competes in athletics, adapted athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, futsal, handball, judo, karate, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, beach volleyball, wrestling and chess. The event is a qualifier for the South American Championships, which will take place in December in Chile.
