“Resilience is the word of this call. There is no such thing as immediacy in swimming”, these words were written by Marcos Bandeira, coach of student-athlete from Amapa Kenzo Pinon, summoned to compose the Brazilian swimming delegation at the ISF Gymnasiade U15 2023, which will take place between August 17th and 27th, at Rio de Janeiro.
The announcement of the call was through the social networks of the Amapá Natação team, in which the amapaense is part, and the Amapaense Federation of School Sports (Fade). Kenzo is the only athlete from the northern region to be part of the Brazilian swimming delegation at Gymnasiade 2023.
“Our great little athlete, Kenzo Pinon, was invited to represent Brazil in the World School Sports, the Gymnasiade… We congratulate our athlete and his coaches Marcos Bandeira and Silvio Guilhermino”, wrote the Swimming Team.
“It is with great pride that we announce that Kenzo Ramos Pinon, student-athlete from the Antônio Cordeiro Pontes State School, has been invited to compose the Brazilian delegation that will participate in the ISF Gymnasiade Sub15 2023, in August, in Rio de Janeiro. Let’s hope he can achieve great results in this competition!”, wrote the Federation.
In addition to Kenzo, another from Amapá, Heron Gael, was also invited to represent Brazil in the competition, in the wrestling modality.
About the event
The Gymnasiade is the world’s biggest competition in school sports and is organized by the ISF, together with the CBDE, with the support of SESC Rio; the Student Sports Federation of Rio de Janeiro (FEERJ); the State Government of Rio de Janeiro, through the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure; of Rio City Hall; and the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Sports.
In all, there will be 22 disciplines disputed, three of which are parasports. Among them are Athletics, Adapted Athletics, Badminton, 3×3 Basketball, Boxing, Dance, Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Judo, Paralympic Judo, Fencing, Karate, Swimming, Paraswimming, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Skateboarding, Surfing, Chess, Shooting with Arc and Orientation.
Rio is expected to receive 2,100 student-athletes aged between 13 and 15 from public or private schools. The event will have free admission.
