This weekend, Amapá won more medals at the Brazilian School Games (JEB’s) and reached the mark of 27 medals, five of which were gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze. The athletes from Amapá are still looking for medals until November 9th, the date that ends the competitions.
The highlight was the medals won in wrestling (eight in total), swimming and cycling (both gold), which were won this weekend and this Monday (06).
All students are between 12 and 14 years old and are enrolled in public and private educational institutions in the municipalities of Laranjal do Jari, Vitória do Jari, Oiapoque, Santana and the capital Macapá, with emphasis on the districts of Pacui and Quilombo Curiau .
Amapá competes in athletics, adapted athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, futsal, handball, judo, karate, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, beach volleyball, wrestling and chess. The event is a qualifier for the South American Championships, which will take place in December in Chile.
