The competition aims to qualify athletes for national competitions
Manaus (AM) – For lovers of the gentle art, the Amadeu Teixeira Arena will host the 2023 Amazon Jiu-Jitsu Pro Cup this Saturday (4th) at 9 am. The competition is supported by the Amazonas High Performance Foundation (Faar), and aims qualify athletes for national competitions.
“We know the importance of contributing to state competitions so that high performance is stimulated and new talents can emerge. Stars who won the world have already left here, making history in jiu-jitsu, so we want the cycle to be always renewed, so that Amazonas remains in evidence and our athletes bring medals on their journeys”, said Jorge Oliveira, CEO from Faar.
The disputes will take place in the Mirim, Infantile, Juvenile, Adults and Masters categories. For the president of the Amazonas Federation of Professional Jiu-Jitsu (FAJJPRO), Fernando Barros, the event is extremely important for athletes who seek to raise their technical levels.
“We will have athletes from Manaus, Manacapuru, Rio Preto da Eva, Coari, and the integration between these athletes is extremely important, because we understand how jiu-jitsu is a sport of social inclusion. Throughout the event, we will be evaluating all categories so that athletes are prepared for future competitions, mainly nationwide”, highlighted Fernando Barros.
