Allies, parliamentarians and members of society criticize Dallagnol’s impeachment by the TSE

Allies of federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR), parliamentarians and members of society came out in defense of the parliamentarian and criticized the decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that revoked the mandate of the former prosecutor who led the investigations of Operation Lava Jato, on the night of this Tuesday (16).

Among Dallagnol’s main allies, Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR) said he was “terrified” by the impeachment. Moro was the judge responsible for the Lava Jato processes in Curitiba, while Dallagnol coordinated the operation’s task force.

Senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF) reposted on twitter Moro’s message and said he was “very sad” and praying for Dallagnol.

Chamber colleague, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), reinforced the approval of Dallagnol’s candidacy by the Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) and classified the decision as a “legal absurdity that only supporters of a dictatorship can defend ”.

Bolsonaro’s co-religionist in parliament, federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF) reinforced that Dallagnol did not have any Administrative Disciplinary Procedure (PAD) pending before the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP), as claimed by the TSE.

For the twitterthe parliamentarian registered an excerpt of the legislation that deals with the ineligibility of members of the Public Ministry, which would not fit in the case of Dallagnol.

“’All power emanates from the people.’ It will be? Unfortunately, what we have been witnessing nowadays is a deep disdain for votes by togados and even by certain politicians. Respect for the vote of system allies only. This is not democracy,” he added.

Also Dallagnol’s colleague in the Chamber of Deputies, Mario Frias (PL-SP) stated that Dallagol’s mandate was revoked “at the request of the PT and its allies”, even though there was no disciplinary process open at the CNMP when he left the Public Ministry” .

“Deltan was democratically elected, and today, not only has one honest voice been silenced, but the more than 300,000 voices that elected him. A legitimate representative of the people being forced out of parliament is a mockery.”

Former parliamentarians criticize TSE decision

In addition to the current members of the Chamber of Deputies, former parliamentarians also came out in defense of Dallagnol. Former federal deputy Paulo Ganime (Novo-RJ), who ran for governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro last year, stated that Deltan “does not just represent its 345,000 voters. He also represents me”, in reference to the number of votes that the parliamentarian had in Paraná.
