Alexandre Mattos says goodbye to Athletico and thanks Petraglia

With confirmed departure for the Vasco, football director Alexandre Mattos said goodbye to Athletico on social media this Monday (11). In the post, Mattos thanked President Mario Celso Petraglia for “believing in his professional experience.”

The CEO also highlighted the attacker’s negotiation Victor Roque, the biggest in Athletico’s history and praised the runner-up campaigns of the Libertadores in 2022 and champion of the Campeonato Paranaense in 2023, “in addition to leading a new business area at the club”, wrote Mattos.

The director’s resignation took place on Monday morning. Mattos will work at Vasco in 2024.

“Today I end my professional cycle at Athletico PR.

I arrived in Curitiba in January 2022 and made great friends here. At the club, we were runner-up in the Copa Libertadores 2022 and undefeated champions of the Paranaense Championship in 2023, in addition to leading a new business area at the club, which among other achievements, highlights the purchase and sale of athlete Vitor Roque, the largest in history of the club and one of the biggest transactions in Brazilian football.

In these almost two years I have also learned a lot and understood the reasons why Athletico PR has grown so much on the Brazilian and world stage. It is one of the clubs with the best work structures, management and ambition.

I would like to thank President Mario Celso Petraglia, who believed in me and my professional experience. President, thank you very much.
