Aleam swears in 24 elected deputies and elects a new board of directors this Wednesday (1st)

14 re-elected state deputies and 10 deputies who will serve their first term in the Casa do Povo will take office.
The 24 deputies of the 20th Legislature (2023/2027) of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam) take office this Wednesday (1st), from 9:30 am, in the Ruy Araújo Plenary of the Legislative Branch. 14 re-elected state deputies and 10 deputies who will serve their first term in the Casa do Povo will take office.
According to the Internal Regulations, in its Art. 4, Sole Paragraph, the session will be chaired by the oldest parliamentarian, in this case, Deputy Adjuto Afonso (União Brasil). After opening, invite two parliamentarians to act as secretary.
Art. 6 establishes the procedures to be followed when deputies take office and when the legislature is installed. First, the president, standing, utters the following commitment: “I promise to maintain, defend and fulfill the Constitution of the Republic and of the State of Amazonas, and to observe the laws, faithfully carrying out the mandate given to me by the Amazonian people.”
Then, the deputies are called by name to sign the term of office.
Election of the new Board of Directors
Shortly after the inauguration ceremony of the 24 deputies, the Plenary formed will hold the election of the new Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 biennium, a session also chaired by the oldest deputy, according to the Rules of Procedure.
The electoral process is carried out with the choice or acclamation of slates formed by the positions that make up the Board of Directors of the Legislative Branch: president, vice president, 2nd vice president, 3rd vice president, general secretary, 2nd general secretary, 3rd General Secretary and Corregidor.
The inauguration ceremony will be broadcast on TV Aleam, NET channel 6 and also on the open channel 6.2, and virtually on the House’s YouTube channel – www.youtube.com/@AssembleiaAM, and on the profiles of the Legislative Assembly on social networks .
