Aldeia Aramirã receives TRE-AP project on political education – News of Brazil

The TRE Amapá teams traveled to the Aramirã village, in Pedra Branca do Amapari, where the project takes place from October 16th to 21st. “Indigenous Empowerment through Education: Continuing Teacher Training to Promote Political Participation”.
Indigenous and non-indigenous teachers who work in education in the villages undergo training courses with topics related to civic education.
The Electoral Court also provides services to voters with a mobile unit within Aldeia Aramirã. Indigenous people who live in the region take the opportunity to obtain the first copy of their title, regularize the document and practice voting.
The general director of TRE Amapá, Valentim Maia, together with the Secretary of Administration and Budget, Dilma Pimenta, the Coordinator of the Electoral Judiciary School of Amapá (EJE-AP), Rinaldo Farias, and other employees of the Regional Electoral Court of Amapá ( TRE-AP) who are accompanying the project, participated in the opening of work in Aramirã. The director spoke to the teachers about the role of the Electoral Court in the region, with a focus on preparing native peoples to vote.
The action continues with teacher training until October 18th. On the 19th, Thursday, a traveling plenary session is scheduled and on the 20th a public hearing, the entire program takes place in Aldeia Aramirã, in the municipality of Pedra Branca do Amapari.
